    Use to disinfect all hard, non-porous surfaces including metals, stainless steel, plastics, combs, brushes, rollers and shears.

    Anti-rust formulation protects your expensive shears.

    Prepare the Solution:
    Pour one 2 ounce bottle of BARBICIDE® Concentrate into an empty spray bottle. Fill the remainder of the spray bottle with water to achieve the proper dilution ratio.

    Disinfect Tools & Surfaces:

    • Spay onto hard, non-porous surfaces ensuring even coverage.
    • Ensure the surface remains wet for 10 minutes.
    • Wipe dry or allow to air dry.

    What is “contact time” and why is this important?

    Contact time refers to the amount of time a surface or implement must remain wet with disinfectant to effectively kill the pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi) specified on the label.

    For BARBICIDE® the required contact time is 10 minutes of wet contact.

    How should I mix BARBICIDE® Concentrate properly?

    To mix BARBICIDE® Concentrate, add 2 oz (1/4 cup) of the concentrate to 32 oz (4 cups) of water.

    Will BARBICIDE® damage my plastic combs/brushes or fine metal shears?

    BARBICIDE® will not damage plastics or metals; however, leaving items submerged for extended periods is not advisable.

    How long is BARBICIDE® effective when stored in a spray bottle?

    BARBICIDE® can be used until the bottle is empty! It has no expiration date, and since it's in a sealed container with no items being immersed (which minimizes the risk of contamination), there’s no need to change it.

    How do I safely dispose of BARBICIDE®?

    Diluted BARBICIDE® is suitable for sink or drain disposal in accordance with all local and federal environmental regulations. Please contact your local municipality for further clarification.

    What is the difference between BARBICIDE® Plus and BARBICIDE® TB?

    BARBICIDE® Plus was our original tuberculocidal disinfectant and has now been replaced by BARBICIDE TB®.

    Tuberculocidal disinfectant products should only be used in states where they are required by board rules. It is important to make sure this is a requirement of your state before selecting the BARBICIDE® TB product (otherwise BARBICIDE® should be used). Visit your state board website for more information.

    Does BARBICIDE® kill lice?

    Lice are parasites and are best killed by “drowning”, high heat or removal from crucial food source (humans). For soft items that cannot be laundered – bag and tie tightly – leave for 48 hours undisturbed before using. For soft items that can be laundered – wash on hot and then dry until hot to the touch. For implements and tools – immersion in disinfectant as required by most states, will drown them.

    Can I use BARBICIDE® to disinfect my chairs?

    Remember that porous materials cannot be disinfected and ongoing use of disinfectants on materials covering chairs, can damage the material. Feel free to disinfect your chairs, but limit that to once daily – consider barrier methods on chairs such as disposable paper drapes or towels that can be laundered after each client
