To mix BARBICIDE® Concentrate, add 2 oz (1/4 cup) of the concentrate to 32 oz (4 cups) of water.

How often should I replace the BARBICIDE® solution in the jar?

The BARBICIDE® solution should be replaced daily in all containers used to soak combs, brushes, shears, and other implements, including tubs and both glass or plastic jars. It should also be changed if it becomes contaminated or diluted improperly.

What is the difference between BARBICIDE® Plus and BARBICIDE® TB?

BARBICIDE® Plus was our original tuberculocidal disinfectant and has now been replaced by BARBICIDE TB®.

Tuberculocidal disinfectant products should only be used in states where they are required by board rules. It is important to make sure this is a requirement of your state before selecting the BARBICIDE® TB product (otherwise BARBICIDE® should be used). Visit your state board website for more information.

Does BARBICIDE® kill lice?

Lice are parasites and are best killed by “drowning”, high heat or removal from crucial food source (humans). For soft items that cannot be laundered – bag and tie tightly – leave for 48 hours undisturbed before using. For soft items that can be laundered – wash on hot and then dry until hot to the touch. For implements and tools – immersion in disinfectant as required by most states, will drown them.
